a missionary experience...hastening the Lord's work

April 3, 2014

Today is temple time! Somewhat hesitant to come to the temple due to some circumstances. I was in a sneeze mode since yesterday and colds are getting in the way. But still I decided to go. And I'm grateful because I did =)

Took a cab going to White Plains...sabi ng cab driver "Saan kayo mam?" I replied, "sa White Plains po" and off we go. While inside the cab, I had this short conversation with the cab driver:

Driver: Nagtuturo din po ba kayo sa White Plains?
Me: Hindi po (mukha talaga akong teacher dahil sa uniform ko..ahaha)
Me: Sa may temple po ako.
Me: Ah talaga po
Driver: Sa Mormons kayo mam?
Me: Yes
Me: (shock at his question, first time ko itong na-experience, but still manage to answer and remembered "The Articles of Faith") Naniniwala kami kay Heavenly Father, Kay Jesus Christ at sa Holy Ghost.
Me: Yes!

Then he rehearsed to me na marami siyang in-observed na religion at marami din syang binabasa. I asked him if nagbrowse ba sya sa internet because he can access the church site. Then he asked another question... napaisip ako dito kasi mahirap...waaaa

I shared with him that we (LDS) have another book called "The Book of Mormon"
it is another testament na nagpapatotoo kay Jesus Christ.

Driver: Gusto ko yan Mam.

Kinuwento ko sa kanya ung story ni Joseph Smith, the first vision and how we got the "the Book of Mormon" medyo shortened version dahil malapit na kami sa temple. Wala akong piece of paper to write his name and number pero buti na lang may tissue paper ako (thanks to my colds...haha) Nasabi rin nya na maganda ang naging discussion namin. I even told him na i-refer ko sya sa mga missionaries and he said "okay lang". When it's time for me to come off the cab, I gave him my name and number pati narin ung church sites so he could know more about the church. Hopefully ay makapag-access siya sa church sites.

I am indeed happy because I decided to come to the temple today. Blessing talaga!
Thank you Heavenly Father for this one of a kind missionary experience.

my first travel alone =)

March 27 - 31, 2013

Finally, my long wait is finally over! Traveled to Dagupan alone...waaa...this is my first time ever to travel on my own. 5hours ang travel from Manila to Dagupan. Excited to see my former seminary and institute teacher who is dear to my heart, Pres. Greg Karganilla and his wife Tita Shyle. I now call them Mom and Dad.

I enjoyed my vacation with Mom and Dad, met a lot of good people and gained new friends. I now have my second home - Dagupan! Looking forward to coming back..soon!
